Prior to his appointment to the Appellate Division, Judge Covello served as a trial judge in the Supreme Court, Nassau County; on the Appellate Term for the Ninth and Tenth Judicial Districts; and as a trial judge in the District Court, Nassau County. He was known as a very successful settlement judge in the trial courts.<\/p><p>His diverse career background as a trial lawyer and insight as trial and appellate judge serves well to help litigants resolve a wide array of civil disputes. The Joint Commission is an independent monitor that investigates and maintains integrity in the state government. In 2013 Judge Covello completed Advanced Mediation Training at Fordham Law School.<\/p><p>Since leaving the bench in 2011, Covello has become one of the most popular and successful neutrals in New York.
